How to Recognize if I Have a Hair Loss Problem

While it would seem simple enough to detect a hair loss problem, you might be surprised at how early the signs can be detected. Often, men and women don’t realize they have a hair loss issue until it's incredibly apparent to everyone else in their life too.

To help you stop the problem before anyone notices, you need to watch out for these hair loss warning signs:

Hairs in the sink – If you generally style your hair at your bathroom mirror, take a moment to look down at your sink as you do. If there appear to be a number of hairs on your sink's surface, you might be seeing hair loss in action. Take notice for a week or so to see if the hair loss continues.

Hairs on your brush or comb – As you brush or comb your hair, it's normal to see hairs stuck in the bristles. But if you begin to notice that there are more hairs on the comb than there were last week, you might be in the early stages of hair loss.

Less fullness – When you feel the back of your head of hair, are you beginning to feel like you can push down to the scalp more easily? This can indicate you are losing hair in the back of your head, which is reducing the volume of the hair and increasing the thinness.

Lightened areas – Pull out a mirror and look at the back of your head to see if there are any areas where your hair appears lighter. This is often a sign that you are losing hair in that area and that your scalp is beginning to show through more easily.

Being observant can help you start hair loss treatment before you have a bald spot or area – stopping the problem in its tracks.
